Communications Manager, IBT Media


IBT Media, a global business media company operating out of New York City, is hiring a Communications Manager to join its leadership team.


The Communications Manager will partner with departments across the company's portfolio of digital publications to focus on strategic communications including, but not limited to: media relations, crisis communications and crisis management, online brand reputation management, search engine optimization (SEO), litigation support, corporate communications, and more.


The ideal Communications Manager should have experience leading corporate communications (externally and internally), working with executive leadership, and demonstrating exceptional writing and public speaking skills.


Job Overview:

  • Lead the strategic vision of our corporate communications related to: Media Relations, Marketing, Communications, Crisis Management.
  • Design the communication strategy in partnership with executive team, ensuring a standardized and cohesive approach with measured effectiveness of the communication plans executed across social media, company website and other forms of communication intended for internal and external audiences.
  • Formulate comprehensive communications plans that represent our purpose and vision, and supports execution of content strategies to drive stakeholder engagement, build public trust, positively shape the corporate reputation, boost employee morale, and impact positive business results.
  • Help improve search engine optimization (SEO) results and online brand reputation management results for the company's brands.
  • Work closely with other departments and divisions to understand the audience mindset to create, improve, and maintain effective company-wide and targeted audience messages.
  • Represent the company to the media.
  • Lead editorial review and deliver expert advice of all strategic messaging and corporate material. Develop communications best practices to support internal teams with change management efforts and reinforcement of key messages.
  • Liaison with the executive team on special projects and initiatives that may impact Corporate Communications internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and senior executive leadership team to create and execute a comprehensive integrated communications strategy that resonates with the company’s most important audiences.
  • Support internal meetings and events including planning, logistics, messaging and presentation materials.
  • Measure and report on communications activities.


Qualifications:

  • Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing, Advertising or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience at a senior level leading corporate communications.
  • Experience in planning and leading strategic initiatives.
  • Executive presence with ability to interact with CEO, executive team, and board of directors.
  • Strong business acumen and attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate strategic information into clear and concise messages.
  • Proven experience developing and executing a communications strategy.
  • Ability to build consensus with strong listening skills, persuasive and effective written and verbal communication skills and data-driven thought leadership.
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
  • Superior management and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers.
