The Community College League of California is hiring a communications intern to support internal and external public relations, digital media, and marketing projects. The intern will support publication development and production, social media posts and monitoring, news and feature story creation, website updates, and other related public relations and marketing tasks.
The position pays $20/hour and is available from mid-August through mid-December. Applicants must be able to work from the League’s midtown Sacramento office. The schedule will be approximately 20-30 hours per week to be mutually agreed upon and during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. The internship may be used to earn academic credit hours, if required by the intern’s school.
Preference given to a student in or recently graduated from an associates, bachelor’s or master’s program in communications, publications, journalism, or a related field.
Preferred qualifications and skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems.
- Basic graphic design skills; familiarity with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) or Canva.
- Basic understanding of website management and SEO principles.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on a variety of projects.
