The Communications Coordinator position is an opportunity for a detail-oriented early-career professional to join a growing agency. This individual will support the implementation of communication and social marketing strategies for a variety of clients, including government, nonprofit and corporations.
To accommodate in-person collaboration with Urban Emu’s DC-based team, preference will be given to candidates in the Washington DC area.
Responsibilities include:
Support coordination of meeting logistics, scheduling, creating agendas and taking notes
Attend meetings with stakeholders and provide notetaking support
Ensure accuracy of information across project management tools and trackers
Coordinate and communicate project information to internal team members
Assist teams in developing and implementing communication strategies/campaigns
Lead the preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on the status of activities and accounts
Support regular client communications to set and manage client expectations
Maintain and build customer relationships by supporting a best in class client experience
Assist in competitor research and analysis, development of personas and other research/analytical tasks and deliverables
Develop an understanding of research methods and coordinate internal and external resources
Assist with quality assurance and testing
Develop and edit content for blogs, social media and websites
Provide content entry, management and proofing support
Support operations, project management and strategy teams
Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
Solid account management and customer service experience
Familiarity with communications techniques and technologies
Ability to complete multiple projects and workstreams, and meet deadlines
Demonstrated attention to detail and editing skills
Adaptable and curious
Outstanding organizational abilities
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or related field
2+ years of experience in communications or marketing
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Understanding of communications strategies and tactics
Experience in project management and using project management tools
Prior communications agency or firm experience
