Job Summary
We are looking for an adept and agile communications professional to share the stories of Castilleja School’s past and present while also supporting a vision for the future with all communities within and around the school—students, families, employees, trustees, alums and their families, Palo Altans, and members of the broader girls’ school community. This position will work closely with departments across the school, will need to be able to build positive relationships, and will be asked to work independently, proactively, and collaboratively to support Castilleja’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
As a key contributor, the ideal candidate will work closely and collaboratively with other team members of the Communications Department, and in alignment with the school-wide communications strategy and brand while completing:
This position requires the ability to climb stairs, and prolonged periods of walking and standing. Must be able to lift, bend stoop, reach and lift up to 25 pounds.
Salary range is $90,000 to $105,000

Key Responsibilities
As a key contributor, the ideal candidate will work closely and collaboratively with other team members of the Communications Department, and in alignment with the school-wide communications strategy and brand while completing:
- Photography and videography for school website, internal and external communications, publications, and other school-wide and mission-driven projects
- Create content for executesocial media posting, metrics reporting, and proactively stay up-to-date on the latest trends, best practices, and opportunities to tell our story digitally
- Serve as lead content editor of the community-wide newsletter
- Copyedit for Communications Department and other departments as needed
- Support website updates for various departments and the parent association
- Community relations, including supporting communications and events
- Support inclusivity within the community, including managing internal and external translations
- Collaborating with departments across campus, including Advancement, Admissions, Athletics, and the Center for Awareness, Compassion, and Engagement, to support a robust annual schedule of events with associated communications and content creation
- Advanced knowledge of photography, videography, and editing software (composition & DSLR camera functionality)
- At least 2 years of work experience in marketing or communications in a professional environment
- Bachelors in communication, media, photography, or graphic designis a plus
