ECS is seeking a Communication Designer to work remote.

Job Description:

ECS is searching for a passionate and driven Communication Designer who enjoys working within a dynamic and growth-oriented team. The Communication Designer is responsible for designing and managing verbal and written communications, developing outreach strategies and innovative approaches to reach key stakeholders. The ideal candidate is skilled in creating visual concepts for presentations, with the ability to synthesize data and information into compelling graphics, charts, and other visual elements to effectively convey the intended narrative and engage stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptually and visually craft compelling stories.
  • Present information in a clear, concise, and engaging way.
  • Perform research and gather information, based on client design requirements, to create designs like infographics, graphics, charts, maps and other illustrations to address a variety of client and/or business communication needs, while adhering to DHS-approved branding guidelines as required.
  • Transforms spoken or written descriptions of items, processes, issues, or events into visual representations without the benefit of existing pictures, models, or diagrams.
  • Leads brainstorming sessions with a technical teams to develop concepts for graphics.
  • Leads user feedback sessions to ensure designs meet goals and objectives, with the ability to answer questions from users and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Delivers proofs to managers and clients with the ability to solicit feedback and efficiently implement requested changes.
  • Manages multiple design projects simultaneously, while maintaining priorities and delivering to established deadlines.
  • Designs and develops a variety of 508 compliant materials.
  • Prioritizes work requests and maintains both a graphics collateral repository, along with a record of services provided to customers.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $105,000

Required Skills:

  • US Citizenship.
  • Ability to gain DHS Public Trust.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 7+ years experience with strategic communications with emphasis on written and visual communications in a professional work environment.
  • Expert in PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Familiar with applying advanced features and functions in PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge and experience of Federal 508 compliance.
  • Knowledge and experience of WordPress, CSS & HTML.
