Commercial Loan Officer

Develops and manages commercial loan accounts that meet established lending requirements and provide maximum profitability to the bank at minimum risk. Knowledge of lending policies and procedures, including state and federal regulations. Good oral, written communication skills along with strong financial, analytical, and underwriting skills. Extensive knowledge of lending services and related areas. Good managerial and sales skills. Develop and manages commercial loan portfolio that conforms to bank and loan officer lending limits and meets established loan policy and procedure guidelines. Interview loan applicants, collect and analyze financial and related data to determine the general creditworthiness of the prospect and the merits of the specific loan request. Establish, and negotiates where necessary, terms under which credit will be extended, including the costs, repayment method, and schedule and collateral requirements. Monitors loan repayment activities and takes necessary action to collect from past-due accounts. Develops new business by contacting prospects and customers, cross-sells bank services. Participate in community affairs to increase the bank's visibility and to enhance new business opportunities. Undertake special projects relating to departmental services as assigned by Bank Market President or Senior Loan Officer. Review new laws and regulations that influence business lending within the financial industry and makes recommendations to management when necessary. Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Bachelor's degree with emphasis in business, finance or equivalent experience required. Two to three years of experience, preferably in a financial institution commercial loan department. Knowledge of lending policies and procedures, including state and federal regulations. Good oral and written communication skills. Strong financial, analytical and underwriting skills. Extensive knowledge of lending services and related areas. Good managerial and sales skills.
