We're excited to continue solidifying that foundation as we are looking for a Commercial Lines Sales Producer to join our growing team in Lakeland, FL.

The Commercial Lines Sales Producer sells new business and renews accounts in keeping with agency and individual goals. This role provides service in support of sales duties and builds relationships with clients, identifying and soliciting sales prospects from various sources/referrals. In addition, the Commercial Lines Sales Producer carries the agency’s reputation and professional manner of conducting business into dealings with clients, agency personnel and companies represented.

General Responsibilities

  • Identifies and develops insurance prospects and appropriate markets.
  • Develop and qualify leads to drive sales opportunities through cold-calling, networking and other lead generation opportunities.
  • Responds to referrals quickly and effectively.
  • Compiles lists of expiration dates for existing clients to provide leads for additional lines of business.
  • Obtains accurate information from prospects including completing applications, supplemental questionnaires, risk surveys and other related documentation.
  • Calculates and quotes premium rates for recommended policies.
  • Calls on policyholders to deliver and explain policy, to suggest additions or changes to insurance program.
  • Requests and delivers binders to insureds
  • Assist in the presentation of accounts to the insurance carrier
  • Educates clients concerning agency payment expectations and cancellation procedures.
  • Collects down payments from insureds for purchase of new and upgraded coverages and obtain signatures on applications.
  • Acknowledges non-standard coverage limitations and binding restrictions to document file and lower errors and omissions exposures.
  • Asks for referrals from insureds to help generate new business and builds and maintains a referral network of others in the business community.
  • Explains coverages and exclusions to prospects and customers.
  • Runs applicable reports, such as MVR score, etc. and as specifically required by a company.
  • Develops a book of business that is profitable for agency and carriers.
  • Works with customers to ensure limit and coverage adequacy.
  • Recommends and helps insureds carry out loss control programs, independently and with company loss control staff.
  • Develops relationships with prospects and customers.
  • Keeps abreast of industry changes and trends.
  • Participates in seminars and classes for knowledge and skill development.
  • Positively interact with all departments in the agency
  • Coordinate with Account Manager and CSR for service of existing accounts.
  • Understand and use automated agency systems and stay actively involved with new ways to use technology.
  • Accurately and timely documents clients’ files in the agency management system as to coverage discussions, quotes, declinations, etc.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, pr governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Obtain 2-20 license within 60 days
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years related Commercial Lines and/or Life and Health experience and/or training
  • Knowledge of Commercial Lines insurance coverage
