We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Ground up Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of commercial construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs. The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction projects and the ability to analyze and interpret project plans and specifications to create comprehensive cost estimates. Exceptional mathematical, analytical, and communication skills are essential to excel in this position. The Commercial Construction Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate and competitive estimates are provided to clients.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to fully understand the scope of work and required materials for commercial construction projects.
- Conduct site visits and evaluations to gain a thorough understanding of the project's requirements and potential challenges.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to clarify project details and identify any necessary adjustments or variations.
- Develop and prepare accurate, detailed, and competitive cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services based on project plans and specifications.
- Utilize appropriate software and tools to generate cost estimates, including cost books, databases, and spreadsheets.
- Research and gather information on material and labor costs, industry standards, and market trends to ensure estimations are up-to-date and competitive.
- Prepare and present cost estimates to project managers, clients, and other stakeholders, explaining the breakdown of costs and justifying the estimates.
- Collaborate with procurement and sourcing teams to obtain accurate and competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids to determine their suitability and competitiveness.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date cost databases and records for future reference and benchmarking.
- Monitor and track project costs to ensure they align with the estimated budgets.
- Identify potential cost-saving measures or alternative materials without compromising quality.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Commercial Construction Estimator, with a minimum of [X] years in estimating commercial construction projects.
- Excellent understanding of commercial construction practices, techniques, materials, and codes.
- Proficient in interpreting and analyzing construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in utilizing estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, Sage, or Procore.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project team members.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as necessary.
