Job Description: Commercial Banker

Position Overview: We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Commercial Banker to join our dynamic team. The Commercial Banker will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial clients, providing financial solutions, and fostering client relationships. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial banking products, credit analysis, and business development.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with commercial clients, understanding their financial needs and providing tailored banking solutions.
  • Credit Analysis: Evaluate creditworthiness of commercial clients by analyzing financial statements, cash flow projections, credit history, and collateral to assess risk.
  • Loan Origination: Structure and negotiate credit facilities, including term loans, lines of credit, and commercial real estate loans, based on client needs and risk assessment.
  • Financial Advisory: Provide financial advice and guidance to commercial clients on cash management, treasury services, risk mitigation strategies, and other banking products.
  • Portfolio Management: Manage and monitor the performance of commercial loan portfolios, ensuring compliance with credit policies, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures.
  • Business Development: Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and grow the commercial loan portfolio through prospecting, networking, and referrals.
  • Cross-Selling: Promote and cross-sell additional banking products and services, such as deposit accounts, merchant services, and treasury management solutions.
  • Risk Management: Monitor industry trends, economic conditions, and market developments to identify potential risks and opportunities for clients and the bank.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines, banking laws, and internal policies in all client transactions and loan activities.
  • Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly to client inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining high client satisfaction levels.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field (MBA or relevant certifications such as CFA preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Banker, Relationship Manager, or in a similar role within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial banking products, lending principles, credit analysis, and risk management practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate financial statements, assess credit risk, and structure complex loan transactions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
  • Business acumen and strategic thinking to identify opportunities and develop innovative banking solutions.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving sales targets, managing client relationships, and driving business growth.
  • Proficiency in financial software applications, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ethical standards and integrity in handling confidential client information and adhering to banking regulations.
