Job Description
As a Student Success Coach, you'll play a vital role in implementing, assessing, and developing donor-funded student success programs aimed at improving persistence and degree completion for Native students. You'll collaborate across various programs, working closely with team members in Student Success Services, Resource Development, Research Evaluation, and Programs initiatives to design, execute, and evaluate student success programs. Your responsibilities will also involve partnering, mainstream college staff, and faculty to ensure students have access to the resources needed to achieve their academic and career goals.
Key Responsibilities
Provide personalized support to students, guiding them in both college and career readiness strategies to help them reach their graduation and career objectives.
Manage student database entries and documents, utilizing data-driven analysis to measure program effectiveness.
Proactively communicate with students, connecting them to intervention and support services provided, their college, or their community.
Facilitate educational and career planning activities, both online and in-person, to assist students in achieving their goals.
Utilize cohort/group coaching models to support students' progress towards graduation and career readiness.
Build and maintain relationships and surrounding communities to ensure students are connected to necessary resources and support systems.
Provide regular reporting on activities, milestones, and impact to support program evaluation.
Collaborate with the Student Success Services team to plan and implement programming and events for scholarship recipients.
Support strategic goals by sharing student success stories and fostering donor relationships.
Competencies
Job Requirements:
Proficient IT skills, including database management and Microsoft Office.
Strong relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively.
Experience presenting to groups of varying sizes.
Willingness to travel frequently during the academic year.
Education/Experience/Certification Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience working with AIAN or underserved populations in college settings.
Experience in Student Support Services or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Student Affairs or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Involvement in student advising or coaching.
Experience in college and career readiness programs.
Work Environment
Traditional office setting with some potential for hybrid or remote work.
Up to 30% travel may be required.
Physical Requirements
Frequent keyboarding.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
