Here at WeAquatics our personalized one-on one swimming lessons feed into our developmental swim team known as Young Masters. Our objective is to give detailed attention and feedback to developing swimmers in the areas of technique, conditioning, respect for themselves and others and embracing the journey that is competitive swimming. We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Young Masters Swim Coach!

As a Swim Coach, you will play a key role in the transfer of knowledge of competitive swimming and cultivating amazing athletes. Previous experience as a swim coach or competitive swimmer is required. Position: Swim Coach

Locations: Chinquapin Park Recreation Center, Alexandria VA and Prince George’s Community College, Largo MD

Starting Pay: $30/hour

Location and Hours: We are looking for a swim coach to run workouts in the evenings Tuesday through Friday at Prince George’s Community College and on weekend afternoons at Chinquapin Park Recreation Center.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct efficient and effective swim practices with emphasis on technique, attention to detail and overall competitive swimming etiquette.

  • Collaborate with Young Masters coaching staff and WeAquatics administration to ensure efficient club operations.

  • Evaluate and monitor swimmer progress, offering constructive and empowering feedback.

  • Ensure a safe and positive learning environment by enforcing pool rules and safety protocols.

  • Communicate effectively with students and parents/guardians regarding progress and goals.

  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and performance.

  • Foster a positive and enjoyable atmosphere during practices.

  • Attending area swim meets

Qualifications:

  • Competitive swim coaching skills

  • Extensive knowledge of legal stroke technique

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to adapt coaching methods to different learning styles.

  • Current lifeguard, CPR and USA Swimming certifications REQUIRED.

  • Passion for promoting competitive swimming and water safety and a love for teaching swimming

  • Previous experience as a competitive swimmer REQUIRED.
