About Spade AI 


Spade AI is building J.A.R.V.I.S. for market intelligence - a contextual AI to accelerate decision making and innovation for SaaS businesses.


SaaS product and go-to-market teams spend months and tens of thousands of dollars on research into market trends to inform strategy. This prevents them from responding quickly to fast changing market conditions and at risk of disruption. We seek to empower SaaS businesses with an AI-powered analyst offering real-time market insights when and how they are needed. 


To get to our vision, we today offer an AI-powered intelligence platform which helps product organizations monitor and analyze the competitive landscape. 


We are a pre-seed startup backed by Techstars, Antler, and leaders at companies like Google, Rapid7, Microsoft, and Grafana Labs. 


The product is currently in closed beta, and will relaunch in September 2024.


About the role


Spade AI is looking to expand our founding team with smart, ambitious, resilient, entrepreneurial leaders who are willing to do whatever it takes to win. 


This is not a job. This is a bet on yourself. We want team members who see this as their biggest investment, not just another career move. 


If you are willing to grind it out for the next 5 to 7 years, through hell and high water, paycheck or no paycheck, then we want to talk to you.


Responsibilities 


Do whatever it takes to build the next unicorn intelligence business. 


You will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the business and represent the company to current and prospective customers, partners, funders, advisors, and advocates. 


Depending on your skills and strengths, you will be involved in each of these to varying degrees: 

  • Development of business and product strategy
  • Customer discovery
  • Product management
  • Engineering of the product
  • Managing team members (UX design, data science, software engineering)
  • Content marketing and other customer acquisition tactics
  • Founder-led sales
  • Investor engagement and fundraising
  • Financial management

Ideal Background 


  • Previous founder of a venture backed startup, or experience working within very early stage venture-backed startups, is a must.
  • Experience or domain expertise in market research and analysis.
  • Strong engineering or technical background, with a preference for the following technologies: 
  • Python
  • Postgres
  • ML 
  • Generative AI
  • Javascript/React.js/Next.js
  • AWS
  • Demonstrated experience attracting, hiring, enabling, and leading stellar talent.
  • Strong operations/development skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear and effective communicator.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Data-driven decision making.
  • Flexible, easily adaptable to change, and comfortable with ambiguity.


Compensation


Equity only to start. 10-30% of the company depending on the candidate.
