Genomic Testing Cooperative is growing and looking to hire a Clinical Lab Scientist who is interested in research in the field of genomics and wants to make a difference in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients. This position is a Tuesday- Saturday position (Time TBD).

Clinical Lab Scientist / Research Scientist
Qualification Requirements:
Performs clinical laboratory tests to support patient care and research. Utilizes various molecular techniques, instrumentation, and disciplines related to Next-Generation Sequencing and other molecular procedures. Performs laboratory quality control and assurance activities. Supports data entry and reporting processes using the Laboratory Information System.

Clinical Lab Scientist / Research Scientist
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a natural science field with 2-3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- License in the state of CA as a CLS, CGMBS, or CCS
- Experience with RNA and or DNA sequencing, extracting, and analysis for daily molecular testing
- Experience performing molecular techniques related to Next Generation sequencing
- Experience with NGS library preparation, hybridization, and sequencing
- Experience ensuring and maintaining the integrity and quality of the laboratory in the areas of sample processing, equipment maintenance, and SOPs
- Possesses appropriate computer skills with strong data entry skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Motivated to work independently and within a team environment
- Willing to work in a biohazard environment and follow safety policies and standards outlined in the Safety Manual
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and problem-solve
- Attention to detail and critical thinker
- Performs laboratory tests to support research efforts to develop molecular testing procedures for use in the clinical laboratory.
- Participates in experiments designed to validate molecular testing protocols and documents performance characteristics of each procedure.
- Performs validation studies to replicate and verify results with industry or scientific principles.
- Tabulates and graphs data and prepares technical reports for superiors.
- Maintains laboratory records, archives, assay protocols, and sample or specimen repository sufficient to pass regulatory oversight including CAP and FDA.
- Experience working with software, quality systems, and lab automation
- Knowledgeable of molecular laboratory processes, techniques, and equipment (such as pipettes, thermocyclers, and liquid handlers)
Performs clinical laboratory tests to support patient care and research.
