Clinical Director

Behavioral Health: ACE employs a team of social service professionals to provide high quality care management and therapy services in support of its programs. The staff of this department provide training in human services across programs and participate in monitoring and evaluating program and individual staff performance.

Position: The Clinical Director will assure the development, quality, and sustainability of the Department of Behavioral Health’s services provided, coordinate day-to-day operations, and recommend and implement changes that improve delivery of services. The Director will also provide direct services as needed.

• Clinical expertise in crisis intervention, skills in working with the chronically mentally ill population, and with individuals and families undergoing acute episodes of psychiatric distress; skills in diagnosis and assessment.
• Ability to work as part of a comprehensive community mental health team and to represent the agency in the community.
• Ability to lead a staff of professionals and paraprofessionals.
• Familiarity with community support systems, health care and human service resources, court and police activities, etc.
  
  

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensures the ongoing development and sustainability of department services through strategic planning, resource attainment, and partnership maintenance and expansion
• Leads ongoing assessment and evaluation to ensure that department services effectively address participant, organization and community needs
• Prepares and submits timely, accurate reports
• Responsible for quality assurance in service delivery including clinical care and documentation
• Ensures the provision of group and individual technical assistance related to clinical care management practices to direct service staff upon onboarding and ongoing
• Provides supervision to BBS-registered ACE staff
• Trains and supervises program staff, interns, and partners to ensure program participants receive effective and efficient services
• Prepares and presents periodic reviews of individual performance and develops training and supervision plans for program staff and volunteers; ensures supervisees register for and attend required trainings
• Serves as ACE’s primary point of contact with the Department of Mental Health and related entities
• Recommends changes to improve service delivery and implements changes and new programming.
• Adheres to the agency's policies and procedures and its code of ethics and complies with all with all federal, state, and regional laws and regulations related to mental health and related services
• Provides high quality behavioral health and family coaching services to participants and their families as needed.
• Attends and participates in all mandatory meetings and trainings
• Serves on agency committees, work groups, and other bodies
• Fosters positive relationships with community members and partner organizations
• Participate in cultural and community building activities/events
• Works to incorporate into organizational culture best practices for diversity, equity, and inclusion, restorative justice, and trauma-informed care
• Contributes to practice by accomplishing related tasks as needed

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout facilities.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  
  

Qualifications

• Licensed Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences
• Current licensure with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences
• At least three years of professional experience in mental health or human services.
• Possess a current California Driver’s License, clean DMV record & adequate auto insurance.
• Must submit to a Department of Justice Criminal background check
• Initial TB employment clearance required
  
  

This position may pay between $80,000 - $120,000/yr full-time exempt. The amount will be determined by experience, education, and qualifications.
