The primary purpose of the Client Service Consultant is to enhance customer satisfaction and business growth by providing exceptional follow-up on inbound leads and penetrating existing accounts. This role focuses on maintaining and expanding relationships with current clients, ensuring their ongoing needs are met, and identifying additional opportunities for revenue.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead Follow-Up and Prospecting:

o Respond promptly to inbound leads through direct interactions such as calling and emailing.

o Qualify and prioritize inbound leads to ensure timely engagement and conversion.

o Develop and implement strategies to follow up on leads effectively and efficiently.

• Client Engagement and Relationship Building:

o Initiate contact with potential and existing clients to introduce our products/services and understand their needs.

o Build and maintain strong relationships with current clients through ongoing communication and relationship management.

o Conduct regular check-ins with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for additional sales.

o Schedule appointments with key decision-makers to advance opportunities and address client needs.

• Sales Process Management:

o Manage the entire sales process for inbound leads and existing accounts, including conducting meetings, presentations, and negotiations to close deals.

o Demonstrate the functions and utility of products via web or in-person presentations.

o Track all sales activities in the company CRM system, ensuring account information is current and accurate.

• Market and Client Research:

o Research potential and existing clients to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is maintained in the CRM system prior to contact.

o Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.

• Account Penetration and Expansion:

o Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell to existing clients by understanding their evolving needs and challenges.

o Develop strategies to expand the company's footprint within existing accounts.

o Collaborate with clients to tailor solutions that address their specific needs and add value to their business.

• Sales Pipeline Management:

o Maintain and manage a pipeline of prospects and existing accounts, tracking progress through the CRM system.

o Provide regular updates on sales activities, pipeline status, and progress towards targets.

o Maintain detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.

• Collaboration and Strategy:

o Coordinate with other team members and departments to optimize the sales effort.

o Periodically meet with the manager to review progress and identify areas of opportunity.

o Assist the manager in strategizing effective sales plans.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred; however, requirements may be satisfied with an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proven experience in client services, sales, or a similar role with a strong focus on follow-up and account management.

Expereince with inbound and outbound sales techniques.

• Basic understanding of finance/accounting.

• Ability to source, identify, develop, and nurture new opportunities.

• Experience with Microsoft Office; knowledge of utilizing a CRM is a plus. 

• Excellent presentation, communication, writing, and listening skills.

• Ability to quickly build credibility with an executive-level audience.

• Superior time management and organizational skills.

• Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset.

• Expectations and goals will be set on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including sales count and revenue targets.

• Progress towards goals will be tracked through Salesforce (CRM), with a focus on pipeline management and forecasting.

• Success will be measured by both activities and results, including metrics like the number of inbound leads followed up, customer satisfaction scores, sales completed versus quota, and account penetration rates.

• Ability to travel as needed.
