Responsibilities
Deliver the instructional program approved by the school, aligning standards and Massachusetts Common Core.
Utilize technology for remote learning during hybrid or full remote settings.
Manage the classroom using Schoology for learning management and a grade recording system for lesson plans, resources, attendance, and grades.
Teach in a two-year looping organization structure.
Organize classroom activities to maximize instructional time, maintain consistent discipline, and integrate support and enrichment curriculum.
Document teaching programs and student progress through daily and weekly lesson plans, student portfolios, assessments, attendance, and other required documentation.
Supervise assigned paraprofessionals by delegating tasks and instructional responsibilities based on experience and ability.
Foster cooperative family partnerships by communicating with parents to support student achievement aligned with the school's mission.
Support the school's dual language goals and participate in school-based professional learning, innovations, and technology advancements.
Engage in personal and professional development through ongoing training and an approved professional development plan.
Attend all scheduled meetings and fulfill professional development requirements outside regular school hours.
Experience/Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education (PreK-Grade 2 or 1-6) with appropriate content subject area/grade level.
Massachusetts license in Early Childhood Education (PreK-2 or 1-6).
SEI endorsed or commitment to becoming SEI endorsed by the end of the first year.
Preferred 3 years' experience, with a strong commitment to educational equity for low-income and linguistic minority students.
Experience teaching urban students, particularly of Hispanic backgrounds, is preferred.
Dedication to mission and goals.
Ability to work independently as a classroom leader and collaboratively within grade-level staff and the school community.
Proficiency in using various programs, applications, and management systems.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and strong interpersonal, planning, and organizational abilities.
