The Civil-Structural Engineer/Designer should have at least three to five years of design engineering experience in an EPC setting. Responsibilities are varied and include preparing and providing estimates, scope of work documents, technical reviews, analysis and design - and input for Proposal/Geotechnical Investigation, Engineering, Bid and Construction phases. As well, assist project and engineering teams in developing and implementing site-specific civil-structural design methodology, estimates, and scope of works with Air Liquide budget and schedule in mind.
Ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders
Ability to collaborate with in-house Engineering Delivery team and other E&C Centers as well as third-party contractors and firms.
Verify inputs received from internal and external design team members and vendors by highlighting apparent inconsistencies, errors and omissions.
Interface and expedite outside EPC/engineering entities to perform to Air Liquide scope, budget and schedule.
Check EPC construction deliverables for thoroughness of design and engineering detail.
Perform engineering and design as required for civil-structural design typical for industrial infrastructure and plant construction
Assist project and construction team in resolving civil-structural issues as they arise during engineering and construction.
Review vendor/fabricator shop drawings as required.
Answer RFIs and TQs as required.
Support Engineering Delivery group on other technical requests as required, including interdisciplinary aspects (piping, E&I, etc)
Contribute to improvement upon design in-house or techniques or improvements (dynamic equipment, cooling towers, piling etc)
Required Qualifications And Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with PE or equivalent experience in civil engineering and design
3-5 years experience in an EPC setting
Travel on an average 15% to project locations and engineering offices as required
Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection
TX Professional Engineering License or ability to obtain one within year of hire
Design of Concrete Structures
Design of Steel Structures and Anchorage
Design of Piling
Familiarity with Hydraulic Design
Familiarity with AutoCAD, SmartPlant Review and Navisworks.
Capability with Structural Design Programs Such as STAAD, RISA 3D, Mat3D, etc.
Ability to use standard and national building codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC etc.) for design, population of site data sheets, and more
Be motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
Support and liaise with a wide variety of people and teams
Be able to work with Google Suite of products
