Job Title: Land Development/Site Development Engineer

Location: Bay Area, CA

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Land Development/Site Development Engineer to join our dynamic team in the Bay Area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering with a focus on land development and site development projects. This role involves planning, designing, and managing various projects from concept through completion, ensuring compliance with local regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Design:

• Develop and prepare engineering designs and plans for land development and site development projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and due diligence.
• Prepare detailed construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.

Project Management:

• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate project approvals and permits.
• Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and local regulations.

Technical Expertise:

• Perform grading, drainage, utility design, and roadway design for development projects.
• Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS for project designs.
• Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses as required.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental, zoning, and land use regulations.
• Prepare and submit permit applications and coordinate with regulatory agencies for approvals.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including surveyors, architects, planners, and environmental consultants.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and interns.
• Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and the public to address project-related inquiries and concerns.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in California or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on land development and site development projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and other relevant engineering software.
• Strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations and permitting processes.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with sustainable design practices and green infrastructure.
• Knowledge of stormwater management practices and low impact development (LID).
