PAY GRADE: 2 PAY RANGE: 70,000 – 80,000

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with after-hours as needed

Compensation: Commensurate with experience and discretionary bonus based on performance and profitability.

Granville Homes, Inc. is an industry leader in land acquisition, land entitlement, land development and construction. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing financial data and providing accurate and timely cost information to management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be able to work independently to identify cost savings opportunities and improve financial performance.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain cost accounting system

Analyze financial data and provide accurate cost information to management

Identify cost savings opportunities and make recommendations to improve financial performance

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

Assist with budgeting and forecasting

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and procedures

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

3+ years of experience in cost accounting

Strong understanding of accounting principles

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software

Competencies

Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.

Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements.

Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks and the tasks of other tax team members.

Ability to work well independently as well as the ability to work well with stakeholders and communicate the benefits of tax initiatives.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Preferred candidates have a current CPA license or Master’s degree in an accounting discipline.

This is a full-time at will position, and work hours are typically Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as department needs demand.

Travel is minimal and is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
