With the support of Centre Lane Partners, Echo360 has recently completed the acquisition of Inking, a pioneer in digital training and development, a strategic union which aims to redefine corporate learning for millions of employees worldwide. The combined capabilities of these companies will uniquely address the diverse needs of learners from trade schools, universities to corporations, setting new standards in personalized and interactive learning experiences, incorporating a robust mobile platform that will further enable personalized, accessible learning experiences.


The Position

As a member of Echo360’s leadership team, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will establish and execute the company’s technical vision, lead engineering efforts and drive the company’s strategic directions, development and future growth. Key to the position’s responsibilities include engineering and architectural team management and leadership, software development methodology evolution and integration, as well as deep partnering with the product team to develop world class products to specifications on time and within budget.


Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CPO to drive successful product integration and development sprints to deliver on the product roadmap to include all platforms (Mac, PC and Mobile) and drive the vision, thinking horizontally and engaging across value streams.
  • Assess, engage and grow a high performing, execution centric, high velocity team culture with a global 100% remote team.
  • Complete the integration of disparate technology platforms and data architecture across the product ecosystem.
  • Create and execute on strong API and IDP strategies.
  • Partner with other members of the Executive Leadership Team as a change agent to help drive the business, operational and technology strategy.
  • Engage with customers, prospects, partners on Echo360 tech platforms/infrastructure.


Requirements:

  • Prior experience as CTO of a robust, global B2B, B2C or B2B2C SaaS provider.
  • Deep expertise/familiarity with SaaS based KPIs and operating drivers that amplify and maximize enterprise value.
  • Experience in growth stage PE-backed businesses ($50m-$300M) with an understanding of the reporting requirements and transparency.
  • Previous software development team leadership of a global, remote team of 50+ including offshore, contract resources and employees.
  • Strong skills in software development, project management, product development and architecture with both front-end and back-end expertise.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity with the ability to focus on prescription and execution rather than theory and generalizations.
  • M&A diligence, on buy and sell side transactions with integration and tech synergies realization experience.
  • Proven experience with successful software product integration and localization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Functional Experience

Past revenue responsibility of $50M-$300M+.

Leader of global, distributed technical teams comprised of employees and contract resources.

Successful history of successful M&A integration.

Passion for and prior history of creating high performing teams.


Industry Experience

B2B2C / B2C SaaS business.

Learning management, content engagement and/or assessment platforms.


Corporate Stage

PE-backed, private company experience at the C-level.

$50 - $300m+ company revenue experience.


Management and Leadership Experience

Experience reporting to President/CEO in the past.

Experience leading cross-functional technical teams in all aspects of operations.

Experience leading globally distributed teams.

Experience in integrating and managing teams of 50+.


Compensation

Compensation is competitive with the position’s requirements. In a performance-based environment, this will include base salary and bonus structure based on corporate qualitative and quantitative milestones and a commensurate carried interest position.
