Job Summary:
The Chief Strategy Officer is responsible for collaborating with faculty, staff, and leaders across the organization to form strategies and develop the institution’s strategic plan necessary to accomplish the institution’s higher education, research, patient care, and community service missions; develop and administer a system of metrics to measure progress against the strategic plan; and provide objective, expert recommendations regarding complex matters to enable to the organization to meet its mission and vision. The Chief Strategy Officer is the senior-most strategy officer of the organization.
Responsibilities
Major Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks:
Builds and maintains positive and productive relationships with executive leaders, Deans, faculty, the community and other stakeholders.
Strategizes, plans, and directs the overall development and implementation of specific strategies to clearly articulate, focus, and accomplish the organization's core academic, research, patient care, and administrative objectives.
Provides overall direction of strategic initiatives and programs by developing, executing, and implementing a broad communication strategy to enhance collaboration.
Oversees the Strategic Planning department staff to facilitate institutional strategic planning efforts necessary to meet the institution’s mission, vision, and values.
Develops business plans, feasibility studies, and related analyses.
Provides consultation and objective advice to executive leaders, Deans, and other stakeholders to assist with solving problems, improving performance, streamlining structures, etc.
Responsible for the execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls that provides reasonable assurance that department operations are effective and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and all appropriate accrediting bodies.
Collaborates and provides guidance to achieve the organization’s long-term strategic goals while sustaining an appropriate balance with annual tactics.
Oversees a system that coordinates strategic analysis and reporting in all units of the University.
Identifies strategically important topics for study and formulates the analytic methods of those studies.
Other duties as assigned.

Well-developed presentation and facilitation skills are required.
Qualifications
Required Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university is required.
Ten (10) years of relevant experience required.
Experience in lieu of education will be considered, as appropriate.
Preferred
Preferred Education / Experience:
Master’s degree.
Experience in higher education, healthcare, or management consulting.
