Chief Risk Officer

A farmer-direct grain merchandising firm is looking to hire their first Chief Risk Officer to join in their North Dakota headquarters.

The firm provides extensive services across merchandising, logistics and transport, futures brokerage, analytics, and proprietary trading. This CRO hire will wear multiple hats, managing overall firm and farm-level risk and assisting the firm as they continue to strategically expand the business across the USA.

The main priorities are leading hedge strategy design and implementation at the firm and farm-level, managing client trading accounts, developing and expanding client relationships, and managing relationships with futures exchanges when necessary.

Extensive commercial experience with grain merchandising (with P&L responsibility) is required to exceed in this position, and dedicated risk management experience is strongly preferred.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in grain merchandising and/or risk management
• Degree in Agricultural Business/Agricultural Economics preferred
• Product expertise: wheat (hard red spring, winter), corn, beans, canola
• Experience with cash grain trading + exchange traded futures and options
• Series 3 license or ability to obtain one
