Obesity is a severe public health issue, especially among vulnerable populations served by Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and Community Health Centers (CHCs), where 76% of adult patients are overweight or obese. These centers face significant resource constraints, making it challenging to implement comprehensive, multidisciplinary obesity management programs. Effective intervention requires substantial support and innovative solutions to improve patient outcomes and manage the obesity epidemic within these underserved communities.
Luro Health establishes evidence-driven comprehensive virtual care centers for obesity at Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and Community Health Centers (CHCs). Incorporating Luro Health Platform, FQHCs and CHCs will drive significantly higher reversal rates for the populations served.
Luro Health is actively seeking a Chief Medical Officer to be at the forefront of enabling FQHCs and CHCs to drive impactful results in an underserved population. Luro Health is open to flexible arrangements (ie. consulting, part-time, etc) for this role. The Chief Medical Officer at Luro Health will develop treatment pathways for our virtual weight management program, build and lead a clinical team, ensure compliance with treatment protocols, oversee research opportunities, track treatment adherence, and serve as Luro Health's thought leader through white papers and events.

Credit Pulse works with a team of ambitious humans who are former Founders and startup operators to build the best B2B SaaS businesses in the world, from 0 to 1.
The Why:
Our company is founded on three core beliefs:
- Need: Obesity is a critical public health issue, particularly among vulnerable populations served by Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and Community Health Centers (CHCs), where 76% of adult patients are overweight or obese. Without effective intervention, the obesity epidemic will continue to exacerbate health disparities and strain healthcare resources in these communities.
- Tools: Comprehensive, multidisciplinary approaches to obesity management are essential but currently hindered by significant resource constraints. Advanced AI tools and holistic support systems can provide the necessary infrastructure for FQHCs and CHCs to deliver personalized, effective care to their patients.
- Value Creation: By implementing innovative solutions and providing continuous support, we can improve patient outcomes, streamline clinical workflows, and reduce long-term healthcare costs. This will empower FQHCs and CHCs to lead the charge in reversing obesity rates and creating healthier communities.
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution. Board certification in a relevant medical specialty preferred (Obesity or Weight Management)
- Minimum of 3-4 years of clinical practice experience.
- Experience with Medicaid and Medicare patient populations is highly desirable.
- A front-row seat to building with a world-class startup founder and team.
- A remote-first and flexible opportunity for a passionate obesity care leader to be at the forefront of building innovative care solutions for people at scale.
- Compensation will be structured depending on experience and engagement level.
Luro Health’s dedication to promoting diversity, multiculturalism, equity, and inclusion is more than a commitment - it is the foundation of what we do. And thus we strongly encourage people from ALL backgrounds to apply for this position.
