Chief Medical Officer

Enhance Alignment and Engagement Among Healthcare Professionals

In this role, you will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies to improve alignment and engagement among healthcare professionals at a leading hospital. Your focus will be on promoting hospital effectiveness and reputation through a commitment to quality, patient safety, and physician support. Collaboration with medical staff leaders to enhance governance practices and streamline processes across different hospital departments will be crucial. Additionally, you will work closely with senior executives to achieve hospital-wide goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understanding Hospital Operations and Quality Initiatives

Familiarize yourself with hospital operations, medical staff departments, and ongoing quality initiatives to better support the overall mission and vision of the hospital.

  • Supporting Medical Staff Members

Address concerns of independent medical staff members promptly and provide necessary support to ensure their success within the organization.

  • Collaborating for Operational Improvement

Conduct operational reviews with service line partners to enhance accountability and performance, contributing to overall operational efficiencies.

  • Building Professional Relationships

Build and nurture professional relationships with medical staff and clinical leaders to effectively prioritize their needs and concerns.

  • Developing Strategies with Leadership

Collaborate with senior leadership to develop strategies for clinical integration, provider engagement, and operational efficiency, aligning efforts with organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience, preferably in medical staff leadership.
  • Strong expertise in electronic medical records, preferably Epic.
  • Knowledge of healthcare management, medical staff governance, and patient care quality.
  • Medical degree and board certification.
  • Valid license to practice medicine in the applicable state or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
