About The Role

As the Vice President and General Counsel at our institution in Eugene, Oregon, you will serve as the chief legal advisor, providing strategic guidance to our leadership team. Reporting directly to the President and becoming a part of the President's Cabinet, you will play a crucial role in managing legal affairs and ensuring compliance throughout our organization. Your responsibilities will include offering expert legal counsel to key stakeholders, overseeing institutional matters, and shaping policies that align with our dedication to excellence and inclusivity.

Preferred Experience

• Legal experience in higher education or similar environments.
• Knowledge of public contracting and policy development.
• Ability to translate strategic objectives into practical plans.
• Strong interpersonal skills for fostering relationships across diverse teams.

Minimum Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.
• Admission to the bar in good standing (Oregon State Bar preferred, or eligibility for admission within twelve months).
• At least five years of successful legal practice in corporate, governmental, educational, or related settings.
