Chief Information Officer

The Inland Group of Companies is currently seeking a strategic technology leader with a proven track record driving organizational transformation and delivering impactful new digital and data solutions to join the company as Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer (CIO). The CIO will execute the strategy and future roadmap for enabling people, process, technology, and data across all companies in the Inland Group. Reporting to the COO, the new leader will be a driving force behind the technology strategy, not only leading the technology function but serving as a strategic, trusted advisor to our business leaders in the digitalization and modernization of their businesses and the use of data and analytics to support improved outcomes and performance given the changes underway in the industry. This dynamic leader will play an important role in shaping the future of the company, ensuring that the Inland Group of Companies remain competitive in the real estate investment management and property management services industries. Critically, the CIO will inspire staff through a clear strategy that is well-aligned to business goals and value.

This role will be based at Inland’s headquarters in Oakbrook, IL.

Professional Experience & Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience as a senior technology executive, responsible for setting the strategic vision for a technology team in line with business objectives.
• Leadership at a complex organization that includes a diverse portfolio of functions and/or multiple operating entities or companies.
• Experience partnering closely with business executives including divisional presidents and corporate leaders to understand technology needs and articulating the technology strategy to senior leadership.
• Experience in technology organization management including talent (hiring, training), location, in-house vs. outsourced, budget management, risk management, strategic vendor management.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical terms to non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be viewed as a solutions provider, someone whom stakeholders feel confident approaching with their challenges and/or opportunities.
• Strong professional network and understanding of vendor and fintech / proptech ecosystem, able to serve as the external face of Inland in the industry.
• Real estate, investment management or adjacent industry experience preferred.
• Strong familiarity with leading data, integration and advanced analytics platforms
• Expertise in modern technology concepts, platforms, and methodologies to accelerate change and establish an innovative culture and environment.
  
  
  

EDUCATION

Relevant Bachelor’s degree and an Advanced degree preferred (MBA, Master in IT management, etc.) OR 20+ years of relevant industry experience
