Upstate Veterinary Specialties, PLLC (UVS) is a growing, privately-owned, specialty and emergency veterinary hospital located in Latham, New York. What are we looking for?
We are seeking a Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to join our team. The CHRO is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategies in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the hospital, specifically in the areas of talent management, succession planning, performance management, employee relations, training and development, employee benefits, payroll, compensation and employment legal guidance. The CHRO is a key member of the executive leadership team, working with the hospital owners and officers providing organizational strategy, human resource and legal perspectives while advocating for employees. This position also leads UVS’ Marketing/Communications and Well-being teams.

Position Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline is required. MBA or Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or SHRM certification is preferred.
A minimum of ten years of experience in a human resources generalist position with a minimum of five years involving the management of others.
Must have experience and demonstrated understanding of Federal and New York state employment-related laws and regulations.
Demonstrated leadership experience is required.
