POSITION SUMMARY:

We seek a seasoned Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with extensive experience in financing strategy and fundraising within the biotechnology industry. The CFO will play a critical role in shaping our financial direction, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring sustainable growth through effective capital management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead equity financing efforts from a diverse range of investors and strategic partners within biotech, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and med tech sectors.
• Successfully raise Series B and subsequent funding rounds.
• Develop and execute comprehensive capital strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Optimize capital structure and funding opportunities to support growth initiatives.
• Drive financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
• Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to the senior leadership team.
• Raise crossover rounds and lead the IPO process.
• Attract top-tier investment banks and secure analyst coverage at retained banks.
• Oversee financial risk management, compliance, and internal controls.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate across departments to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
• Evaluate and improve financial systems, processes, and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven track record as a CFO or senior financial executive within the biotech/biomedical industry.
• Prior experience in raising equity financing, specifically Series B and beyond, with a successful track record of securing funding from diverse investor bases including biotech, medical devices, pharma, or medical technology.
• Expertise in managing financial operations, capital structure, and financial reporting.
• Experience raising crossover rounds, leading the IPO processes, engagement with top-tier investment banks, and gaining high-level analyst coverage at retained banks is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with investors, stakeholders, and external partners.
• Advanced degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

POSITION LOCATION:

• Position can be remote. Theradaptive corporate headquarters is in Frederick, MD with additional locations in Boston, MA, and San Diego, CA.
