About the Role

As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as a strategic partner to provide operational leadership, business & financial guidance, business risk mitigation guidance, profitability expertise and forecasting for capital requirements to scale the company and fundings its growth. In this role, you will ensure that the company creates the financial infrastructure required to support its growth and helps drive the strategy for investor relations and external partnership opportunities. You will oversee financial and administrative functions for the Company. As the CFO, you will play a key role in strengthening important business relationships by interfacing directly with Board of Directors, shareholders, potential investors, banks, security analysts, external auditors and regulatory agencies regarding financial matters of the Company.


You will make an impact by:

  • Directing and overseeing all aspects of the company’s Finance, Treasury, Tax, Accounting, Internal Controls, Financial Reporting and SEC Compliance.
  • Representing the Company to the investment community, including oversight of Investor Relations.
  • Working with the CEO and Executive Team to help assess commercial relationships, joint ventures and mergers & acquisitions.
  • Leading evaluation, analysis, and execution of capital raising and corporate financing.
  • Leading the short and long-range financial planning and policies, accounting practices and procedures.
  • Partnering with CEO, Board, and Executive Team in strategic planning and shareholder value creation.
  • Playing an active role in corporate development and commercial expansion, with responsibility for financial forecasts and analysis.
  • Assuring that company maintains strong financial controls, and infrastructure to support growth.
  • Ensuring compliance in corporate governance requirements, security exchange, financial/tax reporting and applicable regulatory laws.
  • Managing company’s cash and investments, banking relationships, insurance, tax strategy and compliance.
  • Leading creation of robust, fully-scalable processes and systems supporting commercial organization.
  • Managing the financial statement audit process, working with the external auditors, and the relationship with the Audit Committee.
  • Representing the company within the financial and business communities with the CEO.
  • Reporting financial results to the board of directors amd risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors.
  • Providing oversight and leadership to the finance and administrative team, fostering a culture collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Hiring, developing, and motivating a high-performing financial and administrative team. Drive a performance-based culture with high accountability.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.


To be successful, you will bring:

  • Proven leadership experience at the C-level and/or Board level required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or related field, MBA strongly preferred.
  • CPA required.
  • Successful track record as a CFO or SVP in a publicly listed, commercial-stage, high growth company within the medical device or life science industry.
  • Experience leading Investor Relations, with positive relationships within the investment community.
  • Prior experience in support of mergers and acquisitions, licensing and joint venturing a plus.
  • Results driven and visionary leadership.
  • Strategic finance leader with deep industry and commercial experience and a track record of success within the life sciences sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully raise capital to support company growth while maximizing shareholder value within a public company.
  • Deep understanding of financial models and understanding of financial concepts.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively motivate through open communication and teamwork.
  • Demonstrated ability to hire top talent, manage and mentor a successful organization.
  • Outstanding oral, written communication skills and strong presentation skills.
  • Strong & effective negotiating skills.
  • Strong business acumen and use of business analytics to prioritize, lead and influence.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and responsiveness to all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient knowledge and skill in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time. Overnight and/or international travel may be required.
  • Ability to lift 10-15 pounds.
