Are you a seasoned financial professional seeking a rewarding career opportunity working with an FQHC? Join a dynamic organization as the Chief Financial Officer and play a pivotal role in driving financial success. As the CFO, you will:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the organization in meeting the financial reporting standards set by the Board of Directors.
- Develop and execute strategies to secure financial resources, including grants, third-party financing, and fundraising activities.
- Communicate the organization's financial status effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employees, management, vendors, auditors, and others.
- Oversee the recruitment, retention, and training of finance staff according to Board policies and legal requirements.
- Present the annual budget for approval to the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Manage the organization’s financial operations within legal limits and budgetary guidelines, reporting any budgetary concerns to the CEO.
- Collaborate with the CEO, COO, and CIO to maximize the operational and financial efficiency of the organization.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, as well as requirements from funding sources and grantors.
- Develop and update accounting and operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient and compliant finance and billing departments.
- Supervise efforts to maximize third-party reimbursements, including financial arrangements and incentive payments.
- Oversee payroll functions.
- Ensure timely collections and accurate financial reporting of accounts receivable.
- Oversee billing department activities.
- Manage the annual independent audit process, including financial audits and IRS Form 990 preparation.
- Act as the Fiduciary agent to ensure the 401K plan is managed according to all applicable laws.
- Attend Audit Committee and Board of Directors meetings.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and maintain purchasing files.
- Implement an effective system of internal controls to maximize reporting accuracy and minimize financial losses.
- Prepare and review budgetary portions of all grant applications.
- Monitor financial trends and prepare projections, communicating unexpected results to the executive management team.
- Prepare financial analyses for new projects, service additions, vendor agreements, and grant proposals.
- Work as an effective member of the executive management team towards common organizational goals.
- Oversee internal pharmacy and 340B contract pharmacy compliance.
- Prepare or oversee FQHC Medicare cost reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Controller or CFO.
- Board certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- Strong project management, organizational, communication, analytical, and customer service skills.
