Our client, a fast growing technology company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer.


Job Summary:

The CFO will work closely with CEO/co-founder to shape the company strategy with focus on improving bottom line financial performance. With a hands-on approach, the CFO will take full responsibility for the finance and accounting functions and assist with capital raising efforts. As a key member of the executive team, this individual will build and nurture relationships with C-level officers, existing investors, and Board Members.


Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Finance & Management
  • Evaluate financial performance of organization and develop short-term and long-term plans to support company growth.
  • Act as strategic business partner to senior leadership team
  • Partner with CEO on fundraising activities, including equity financing, debt financing, and grant applications.
  • Partner with CEO on managing external relationships with investors, banks, and other financial institutions.
  • Recruit and hire finance and accounting talent as required.
  • Financial Analysis, Budgeting, and Forecasting
  • Prepare and present financial budgeting reports by division and product (profit/loss, forecast vs. budget, cash flow)
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support company growth and profitability
  • Guide leadership with insights to facilitate improved decision-making and accountability
  • Identify and manage financial risks to safeguard the company’s assets and operations.
  • Oversee cash flow to ensure the company has adequate funds and runway


Accounting & Administration

  • Deliver month end close, reviewing procedures while eliminating inefficiencies
  • Prepare financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annually) in a timely, accurate manner
  • Ensure flawless operations in all accounting functions
  • Establish financial policies and procedures while improving processes through implementation of tools and systems
  • Prepare and manage all audits
  • Oversee the preparation and timely filing of local, state, federal, international tax returns
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business related field. MBA or related advanced degree preferred
  • CPA required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within a technology startup
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and financial analysis
  • In depth knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • High EQ leadership with team management abilities
  • Ability to build, navigate, and scale teams on a global scale
  • Hands on ERP systems experience preferred
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Culture of continuous improvement
  • High level of integrity and dependability

Compensation

Annual base compensation for this role includes base salary, annual bonus plan and equity participation. The Company has a competitive benefits package.
