We have been retained by a highly reputable, acquisition-oriented, high growth company in their search for a high potential, hands-on Chief Financial Officer. This privately-held industrial distribution company has multiple locations across North America and has a strong history and track record of growth, profitability and success.They are well positioned for continued growth both through acquisitions and organically, with an impressive executive management team and ownership group, who are best-in class, entrepreneurial, strategic, and innovative. Through acquisition activity and organic growth, the company is expected to at least double in revenues over the next three years. The culture is positive, collaborative and team-oriented. This position will be a leader in driving growth and the ownership vision while maintaining the positive, special culture for the Finance team and the overall company. The Company HQ is located in a highly desirable, accessible Southwest Suburb of Chicago.


Position:


This key leadership position will report to the President, who is an outstanding mentor who has led this company through meaningful growth and change. In this newly created position, the CFO will work closely with the President to grow and transform the company. They will also have valuable exposure and interaction with the executive management team, as well as the impressive ownership/Board, whose members have an impressive background of transformation and driving change with sophisticated, well-respected public and private companies. This person will be responsible for strategic leadership, financial management, lead merger and acquisition activity, reporting, compliance, as well as overseeing the information technology sector of the business. This person will work closely with the other members of the senior leadership team as well as the ownership group in driving new investments, organic growth, process improvement and strategy initiatives to grow and transform the business. Additional responsibilities include oversight of financial modeling, due diligence, and integration. This role will be hands-on, but also will oversee a team of direct reports. The company has an incentive, profit-participation program that will provide meaningful incentive and reward for the growth, transformation and change this successful candidate will help drive / lead. Qualifications:


  • Minimum 15 years of progressive financial operational experience in a relevant, related industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and desire to materially grow/transform an existing company.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and identify/improve key financial metrics.
  • Technical and business knowledge to include financial modeling and analysis using.
  • Previous oversight over IT or interest in driving improvement/innovation through IT preferred.
  • Ability to work in a cohesive environment with a senior management team that is interested in growth and driving change.
  • Ability to be hands-on, take initiative work independently, but also collaborate and partner effectively with all levels of an organization.

  • Highest level of ethics, integrity, and emotional intelligence.


Compensation:


Excellent compensation package including competitive base salary, bonus, strong benefits, and meaningful profit participation. If needed, the company will provide relocation for the qualified candidate.
