Job Overview:
Appleton Finn are currently partnered with a leading Inter-Mountain state Heavy Civil Contractor seeking a professional with valuable estimating and plan reading skills for a growth opportunity as a Chief Estimator.
Responsibilities include assisting in pre-construction activities, creating detailed proposals and estimates, mentorship of junior estimators and development of the preconstruction department, and ensuring accuracy from conceptual design to final construction documents.
Responsibilities:
Review project plans and specifications, attend site visits, and define proposal requirements.
Solicit subcontractors and suppliers, prepare quantity takeoffs, and review proposals.
Develop accurate estimates, utilize software tools, and collaborate with project teams.
Ability to lead and develop a preconstruction department.
Skills and Qualifications:
Understanding of project plans, Heavy Civil construction, utilities, and site development scopes.
Proficiency in construction software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
Experience in roles of increasing responsibility in Heavy Civil construction.
Clean driving record and valid driver’s license required.
