Position Summary
We are looking for an exceptional Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead our fundraising initiatives into a new phase of growth. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will drive our fundraising strategies by cultivating relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation partners to support our mission.
Responsibilities
Leadership:
Develop and execute fundraising programs for individual and corporate giving.
Act as the lead fundraising expert, guiding program directors and aligning staff with fundraising objectives.
Effectively communicate our mission to stakeholders.
Forecast revenue and provide progress reports to leadership and board members.
Build and maintain relationships with key donors and prospects.
Management
Lead and expand a talented fundraising team.
Ensure efficient allocation of resources to support fundraising priorities.
Establish and monitor development goals to meet organizational requirements.
Implement progress measurement systems for fundraising objectives.
Fundraising
Create a fundraising strategy and revenue growth plan.
Manage a portfolio of key donors and prospects.
Collaborate with staff to engage, request support, and steward partners.
Cultivate meaningful relationships with donors, foundations, and community partners.
Experience, Skills, And Attributes
10-15 years of senior fundraising and leadership experience.
Demonstrated success in securing significant financial gifts.
Strong leadership and project management abilities.
Collaborative, entrepreneurial, and innovative approach.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Passion for our mission and ability to motivate others.
Reporting Structure
The Chief Development Officer reports to the Chief Executive Officer and oversees the development department.
Working Conditions
The role is primarily remote with approximately 30% travel required.
