As the Chief Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for establishing and providing leadership and direction for the Company’s compliance programs, policies, reporting, and practices. Ensures all activities follow regulatory requirements related to the governance of the Company, including any PBM specific laws, regulations, and industry standards. Will have a deep understanding of healthcare compliance, risk management, and regulatory frameworks, coupled with the ability to develop and implement effective compliance strategies.
What you will do:
Compliance Strategy and Leadership:
Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance strategy aligned with business objectives and industry best practices
Provide strategic guidance to the executive team and consult with other stakeholders on compliance matters
Serve as a liaison to the Board and its committees regarding all compliance matters
Regulatory Oversight:
Monitor and interpret proposed and relevant state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines affecting PBMs to ensure organizational compliance
Serve as subject matter expert to ensure client implementations meet all applicable state and federal PBM requirements
Stay abreast of industry trends and changes, proactively adjusting compliance strategies as needed
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address identified risks and implement corrective actions
Policy Development and Implementation:
Create and update company policies and procedures to reflect current regulatory requirements
Oversee the implementation of compliance programs, ensuring all employees are educated and trained on relevant policies
Audits and Monitoring:
Establish and maintain an effective compliance monitoring program, including regular audits and internal reviews
Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and respond to findings
Oversee and manage investigations of compliance issues
Reporting and Communication:
Prepare and present regular compliance reports to the executive team and Board
Foster a culture of open communication regarding compliance issues throughout the organization
What you need:
Bachelor's degree in law, business, finance, or related field; advanced degree preferred
Proven experience in a senior leadership compliance role within the healthcare industry, preferably within the pharmacy and/or PBM industry
In-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations within healthcare, preferably related to PBMs
Proficiency in identifying and mitigating compliance risks
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
Experience leading others
Ability to develop and implement long-term compliance strategies
Certification in healthcare compliance (e.g., CHC, CHPC) is highly desirable
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, internal, and external
