The Opportunity


AHSG is searching for an exceptional individual to join us as the Chief Clinical Officer. This pivotal role will involve overseeing and upholding the utmost standards of clinical quality throughout our organization, emphasizing patient safety and advancing excellence in healthcare delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading credentialing and clinical operations within our internal staffing and MSP divisions.


The Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) at AHSG is pivotal in guiding clinical excellence and regulatory compliance in alignment with Joint Commission standards. This role encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities including overseeing clinical operations, quality assurance, and the credentialing of healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of care and compliance.


The CCO will lead initiatives to optimize healthcare workforce solutions, ensuring sound client-facing clinical advisory services to support clients’ effective management of float and internal resource pool programs, and advising clients on staffing clinical compliance strategies. This role also involves direct involvement in client sales and advisory services, aiming to enhance client satisfaction and foster long-term partnerships.


By maintaining a sharp focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency, the CCO will enhance the delivery and quality of healthcare services. Leadership in this role will involve collaboration with various teams across the company, such as recruitment, account management, and business development, to align clinical strategies with broader business goals.


The CCO's expertise will be crucial in navigating the complexities of healthcare staffing, adapting to industry changes, and implementing innovative solutions that meet client needs. Ultimately, this role strengthens AHSG’s reputation as a leader in providing reliable, high-quality healthcare staffing solutions.


Duties + Responsibilities:


  • Lead a team of approximately 35 remote Credentialing team members across MSP, VMS, and staffing divisions in Nursing, Allied, Renal, Pharmacy, Locums specialties with support of client efforts to develop and manage float and internal resource pool programs.
  • Set a vision and establish a company culture of clinical quality and a high standard for patient care delivered by candidates placed.
  • Assist staff and management in the development, implementation, and use of systems and the interpretation of data.
  • Facilitate communication and relationships that foster positive interdepartmental communication and coordination.
  • Lead strategic planning efforts to enhance operational efficiencies, clinical outcomes, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead Joint Commission audits, ensuring retention of Joint Commission certification.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and tailor staffing solutions that meet their specific requirements.
  • Develop educational programs and initiatives that enhance the skills and knowledge of corporate and clinical staff.
  • Support sales and business development efforts by providing clinical expertise and insights that enhance client proposals and engagements.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, advocating for the company's healthcare staffing solutions


Professional Experience + Qualifications


  • 7+ years of progressive nursing or allied healthcare professional experience.
  • Relevant experience working in healthcare leadership and/or healthcare staffing.
  • Expertise in clinical quality, including comprehensive compliance knowledge, risk management, and best practices.
  • Extensive experience partnering with senior leadership across functions, as well as the ability to work in a collaborative and team-centric culture.
  • ATS/VMS technology solutions experience with the ability to advise on rollout and integration of new systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, utilize diplomacy when needed, and incorporate the needs of business leaders while remaining decisive to the strategy implications.
  • Ability to establish and communicate clear priorities and to influence others to support and act on those priorities.
  • Proven ability to lead/support objectives, targets and goals.
  • Proactive communicator who can clearly articulate results and needs across all levels.
  • Strong work ethic with ability to multi-task and perform in a self-managed environment.
  • Proficiency in delivering presentations and the ability to translate complex data into various formats to connect with the target audience.

Education + Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Master’s degree and advanced certifications are preferred.
  • Active clinical license in respective discipline preferably a Registered Nurse
