Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Chemistry at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for two coordinator-track faculty positions at the rank of instructor. The start date for the positions is August 1, 2024.
The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching physical science and chemistry courses and providing administrative services, primarily coordinating large enrollment introductory laboratory sections to satisfy a full-time teaching workload every year. Teaching duties will make up the preponderance of the responsibilities and will involve primarily lower division (1000- and 2000-level) courses. The successful candidates will also assist with laboratory scheduling, GTA staffing and oversight, and managing grades across multiple laboratory sections within the 1000- and 2000-level courses.
Required Education
A terminal degree in Chemistry or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Applicants who can teach upper-division or specialty courses will receive special consideration.
