What You'll Do

As a Chemist, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, supporting Lubrizol’s R&D efforts through design, synthesis, and evaluation of new specialty polymers as well as technical support to manufacturing of the current portfolio of products. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life.

What We're Looking For

  • Collaborate with senior researchers to synthesize, characterize and develop new polymeric materials
  • Conduct laboratory synthesis, evaluation, characterization and performance testing
  • Utilize technical knowledge, data, statistical tools, etc. to solve technical challenges
  • Compile, interpret and communicate results to supervisor, colleagues, sponsors, and customers
  • Document experimental results and enter them electronically upon completion of the laboratory work
  • Keep the proper maintenance/operational safety of lab equipment
  • Ensure compliance to safety procedures and good housekeeping practices

Skills That Make a Difference

  • B.S. degree in chemistry or polymer/macromolecular science
  • Experience in laboratory synthesis of organic and/or polymeric compounds
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation and methodology
  • Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively as part of a team
  • Willing to work at Lubrizol’s Wickliffe, Ohio site (up to 50% of the time)
  • Strong communication and basic math skills
  • Fluent in spoken English and capable of writing reports and presentations
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office products
