Chemical Process Engineer

Senior Process Engineer provides engineering and technical guidance to production, maintenance, quality control, logistic and EH&S departments; develop, implement and manage capital projects; and in general to work toward the overall improvement of the site.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and manage capital projects (which include the scope definition, design, procurement, budget control, construction, start-up, training, and documentation) resulting in health, safety, environmental or financial benefit.
  • Troubleshoot and design mechanical/electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic/control systems in plant.
  • Provide engineering and technical guidance to maintenance, production, quality control, logistic and EH&S departments.
  • Troubleshoot production problems, identify failure modes and root causes, implement corrective actions including: training, documentation, and SOP development.
  • Troubleshoot maintenance problems, identify failure modes and root causes, implement corrective actions including: training, documentation, and PM development.
  • Responsible for SOX compliance with respect to managing asset tagging and inventory measurement devices.
  • Collect and analyses data for the purpose of finding and implementing improvements impacting productivity, reliability, efficiency, cost savings and safety/environmental.
  • Provide on and off-hour emergency response including; technical assistance, equipment repair, damage control, and assignment of support personnel as needed.
  • Provide necessary training to new and existing employees.
  • Keeps up on technological changes such as retrofitting machinery to meet today’s new laws and efficiency standards.
  • Work toward continuously improving the safety, reliability, consistency and efficiency of production processes.

Requirements

  • Chemical Engineering degree with work experience of minimum of 8-10 years of experience or 3-5 years in directly related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • Ability and desire to work in a team oriented environment.
  • Experience in Microsoft office and CAD.
  • Experience with data historians (i.e. PI)
  • Experience using and configuring DCS (i.e. DeltaV)
