The ideal Chart Prep candidate will possess critical thinking capabilities to obtain records for patients coming into the practice. Record obtainment will be derived from the provider's last chart note. If it is a new patient, one must contact the referral source in order to obtain the medical records for the patient's first consult appointment.
Roles And Responsibilities
Obtain information from referrals, or other relevant visits to be entered into patient charts
Verify/update patient demographics
Request patient information as needed
Initiate paperwork for insurance referrals and prior-authorizations
Monitor fax tank and scan records
Required Skills And Experience
Excellent customer service and problem solving ability
Ability to think through potential solutions to issues
Good time management and prioritization skills
Good computer skills- Medent and Microsoft Office are utilized
Previous EMR use/training helpful
Preferred Skills And Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous medical office experience preferred
Two+ years of education/ previous work experience in a healthcare support field preferred

This is an onsite position/ location
Cayuga Heart and Vascular at Ithaca Mall
Possible travel to other Cayuga Heart and Vascular Locations as needed
Compensation Disclosure
$16.00 to $18.00 per hour
