Description

Position Purpose: The CFO directs the organization’s financial planning and accounting practices as well as its relationship with lending institutions, shareholders, and the financial community by performing senior level accounting and financial operations. The CFO contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing the financial aspects for the company.

Position Summary: The CFO is responsible for both day-to-day and ongoing impact on company operations, helping analyze, strategize, and grow the company’s financial position.

Essential Duties

  • Develops financial well-being of the organization by providing financial projections and accounting services, preparing growth plans, and directing staff.
  • Leads the Director of Finance in providing and directing procedures and operations necessary to maintain proper records and reports timely and accurately.
  • Appraises the organization’s position and issues periodic reports on the company’s financial stability, liquidity and growth.
  • Analyzes, consolidates, and directs all cost accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports.
  • Develops organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities; projecting acquisition and expansion prospects; analyzing organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and system enhancement; and accumulating capital to fund expansion.
  • Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; and developing action plans.
  • Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
  • Reports financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, analyzing variances, and suggesting improvements.
  • Oversees and directs the preparation and issuance of the company’s annual report.
  • Maintains a relationship with the financial institution and/or bank.
  • Prepares monthly Board of Director’s presentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of successful experience in senior leadership role with accounting and financial management
  • 5+ years’ experience in managing financial audits, lender relationships and P&L reporting
  • Strong analysis, judgement, and strategic thinking, including the creation and implementation of financial and strategic plans
  • Superior leadership, team building and talent development skills, experience leading a developing accounting team
  • Extensive management skills, including strategic organizational development, motivational capabilities, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Action-oriented, adaptable, and innovative approach to financial planning
  • Possess a high level of personal and professional ethics and integrity
  • Solid GAAP and financial reporting technical skills
  • Proven negotiation skills, ability to inspire confidence and create trust
  • Ability to understand new issues quickly and make effective and timely decisions
  • Proficiency with accounting software, ERP, and expert level working knowledge of Excel
  • International experience and CPA preferred
  • Experience with having worked with a manufacturer
