Title: Supervisor I, Manager/Trainer
Under general direction, provides leadership and supervisory assistance in the training of the School Nutrition Program. This position may directly supervise school nutrition Assistant Managers and Food Assistants. Performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with DeKalb County School District policies and applicable laws.
Essential Functions

Trains and supervises food service Assistants, Managers, and Assistant Managers in all aspects of school nutrition program operations including local, State, and Federal Rules and Regulations
Maintains system employee training records for all School Nutrition staff
Assists in developing training curriculum and locates resources for system training of school nutrition program personnel
Provides training in work schedules, equipment use and care, food production, work simplification techniques, nutrition, sanitation, safety, storage, record keeping, nutrition education, procurement, and customer service.
Develops tests and analyzes recipes for use in the school nutrition program incorporating commodities and implementing dietary guidelines.
Understands and interprets applicable budgeting procedures and financial management processes as related to local school cafeteria management.
Provides training and assistance to school nutrition program managers in promotional activities for the school nutrition program; Assesses promotional and nutrition education resources available; Develops and implements a system plan to promote increased participation.
Provides technical support to school nutrition managers.
Assists with special nutrition education programs and projects as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree from an approved accredited college or university in home economics, dietetics, food and nutrition, institutional management, or related field preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years experience in foodservice management required.
Certificates, Licenses, Permits
ServeSafe Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment and renewed every five years.
