Brief Description

Career Management Specialists at LaunchCode connect our talent to opportunity by streamlining career and job search support programs, teaching career management best practices, and by preparing our students to apply for open roles at our Partner Employers. By walking alongside our students from training to employment, the Career Management Team is ultimately responsible for helping LaunchCode graduates get through the finish line of getting their foot in the door to begin their tech careers and be successful in their first role.

This is a full-time salaried position reporting directly to the Head of Career Outcomes and requires no travel. This position will not directly manage internal employees. The full compensation range for this position is $69,500-80,500 with a starting base salary range of $58,000-$67,000. This is a hybrid position working both in-person at our St. Louis headquarters and remote, with a schedule that may adjust for personal or family responsibilities and honor a work-life balance.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support development and offer feedback on Career Outcomes programs strategy, processes, and procedures to ensure LaunchCoders successfully land and maintain a career in tech.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and gather data that helps the Career Outcomes Team track the effectiveness of the programs.
  • Build scalable, repeatable reporting processes to advise leadership on areas of development in Career Outcomes procedures, guidelines, and tools.
  • Develop and deliver professional skills workshops to learners, including but not limited to the following topics: resumes, professional development, interviewing skills, and professional communication skills.
  • Work collaboratively with Education Operations Managers to ensure Learners' success in meeting expectations for an entry-level role in technology.
  • Collaborate with Career Outcomes teammates on ongoing team processes, such as candidate evaluations and matching to job opportunities.
  • Foster life-long learning practices with Candidates including short-term professional learning, and long-term career goals and deliver feedback for improvement to strengthen their employability.
  • Work collaboratively with Company Relations Managers to ensure successful matching of job-ready Candidates to job requisitions.
  • Plan and execute interviewing events in one or more of the following capacities:
    • Recruit, schedule, and train volunteer interviewers.
    • Collaborate with Company Relations Team members to communicate with company partners.
    • Provide logistical support day-of event.
    • Collect and process feedback from volunteers and company partners and relay to learners.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • A deep commitment to our mission and values, and a passion for transforming the technology and workforce development/education sector.
  • At least 1 year of experience in career counseling, job search coaching, career training, or similar expertise.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills as demonstrated by experience in program or project coordination, managing and delivering multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong communication skills, including public speaking, writing, and editing skills.
  • Able to work both independently and in cross-functional teams to solve problems creatively.
  • Proficiency in common business software suites such as Microsoft 365 or Google Suite
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and ability to see change as an opportunity rather than an obstacle.
