The Career Counselor works on a team with four other career professionals and support staff at the Career Development Office, a service division of the Law School. This position supports our service philosophy of consistent, respectful, and zealous attention to our clients, who include prospective students, current students, graduates, employers, and the legal community generally. This position provides career development counseling and assistance to J.D. students with their job search for summer and permanent positions.
In addition to the responsibility of serving as the primary counselor to a segment of the general J.D. student population as assigned by the Assistant Dean of Career Services, this position focuses on counseling and outreach to students in the area of private sector careers. This position serves as liaison to several student organizations and faculty members; develops specialized student programming; engages in employer outreach and development activities; and is responsible for various administrative tasks and other related activities.
