Ready Computing is looking for a talented Capture Manager to lead our responses to opportunities in the federal, state, local, and commercial market sectors. This individual will contribute to bid strategies, pricing, teaming, and proposal development while seeking new opportunities. Further, this candidate will ensure that Ready joins well positioned teams, with clearly identified win themes and strategies, and appropriate workshare on targeted opportunities. The selected person will also build and maintain relationships with clients and business partners to promote and facilitate future business. The Capture Manager will be responsible for ensuring all proposals submitted by Ready Computing are of the highest quality, are compelling, and compliant. This person will work closely with business development staff, proposal managers, sales engineers, graphic designers, and leaders and executives across the organization.


As the Capture Manager, the right person will hold a bachelor’s degree or greater, and will have a minimum of 5 years of experience leading sales, capture management, and/or business development in the US public and private sectors. Job responsibilities include:


  • Report to the Director of Sales;
  • Establish best practices and general strategy for the requirements capture, win theme definition, and writing style for responses to RFI, RFP, RFQ, and similar procurement processes;
  • Play a key role in growing the Ready Computing book of business;
  • Lead proposal teams that include proposal managers, sales executives, and sales engineers;
  • Mentor and grow staff responsible for defining, preparing, and delivering winning proposals;
  • Prepare content for inclusion in procurement response documents, sales presentations, marketing materials, and internal documents;
  • Ensure all pursuits have contracted Teaming Agreements, NDAs, and workshare;
  • Ensure presentations, demonstrations, and customer meetings are professional and properly prepared for;
  • Ensure proposals, estimates/quotes, responses to public procurements, and other documents are fully-compliant and of the highest quality;
  • Represent Ready Computing at sales and marketing activities such as client visits, tradeshows, and user group meetings;
  • Take on other responsibilities and assignments from time to time as requested by management.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Expert knowledge of federal acquisition regulations and policy, such as the FAR;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a willingness to seek out potential customers;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment;
  • Clear communication when addressing each level within an organization;
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and other productivity tools;
  • Outstanding customer service, with an unyielding desire to help clients succeed;
  • Ability to support multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously, and to adapt dynamically to changing priorities.

Physical & Mental Qualifications:

  • All positions require the ability to work on a computer for at least eight (8) hours per day. This includes fine and gross manipulation (typing and utilizing the mouse), looking at a computer screen for extended periods of time, visual acuity (reading off of a computer screen). This also includes the ability to sit and stand for a combined period of at least eight (8) hours per day.
  • All positions require minimum and infrequent lifting requirements (laptop).
  • No positions require walking requirements apart from the travel and commute if stated in this section.
  • All positions require the ability to talk on the phone.
  • Most positions require occasional travel. .
  • All positions require the ability to focus on numerous tasks and project requirements throughout an eight (8) hour workday.
  • All positions require the ability to work, communicate, and collaborate with team members, peers, clients, vendors, and other entities that the Company maintains business relationships with.
