10+ years of experience in planning, estimating, and construction / maintenance management for a process plant or facility
Broad understanding of engineering, construction, scheduling, logistics and financial processes
Advanced knowledge of accounting, contracting, and procurement software systems and processes
Spreadsheet software skills
Big picture perspective – understand how every step can affect the overall refinery
Positive attitude and works well in team based environment (This is a HUGE must have for this team)
HS Diploma or equivalent
Strong understanding of the construction flow of finance and scheduling / how the two flow
Plusses:
BS Degree in engineering or other technical discipline
Proficient in Microsoft Packages (word, outlook, excel, project, access)
Knowledge of procedures and practices for contracting field construction activities
Proficient with Primavera P6
Knowledge in SAP
Knowledge of ‘Gated’ project concepts
Job Description:
Insight Global is searching for a Capital Project Controls Specialist for one of their top clients in the oil & gas industry. This individual will be responsible for supporting project team by providing financial controls and tracking for all regional projects with Project Manager.
Responsibilities include:
Utilize management tools, controls, and analysis allowing Project Manager to make informed decisions with accurate and timely data
Leads in the overall project cost and schedule control efforts for all assigned capital projects
Initiates correct structuring setups to facilitate data collection and control monitoring
Participates in evaluation and award for labor and material contracts
Tracks contractor performance, processes payments and logistics
Contributes to project AFE’s with input from various departments, and acts as subject matter expert deciding on what should and should not be included as well as how data is prepared and presented
Tracks and forecasts costs throughout life of the project
Projects future project needs
Tracks progress against budget throughout year
Prepares required reports on financial and schedule status of assigned projects
Up to 20% travel (once per quarter) to one of 3 locations they oversee
Environmental, health & Safety Responsibilities:
Stops and/or reports any unsafe work or conditions
Follows safety and environmental policies and procedures
Supports safety and environmental goals and initiatives
Participates in safety and environmental meetings, training, emergency drills and hazard recognition programs
Reports all accidents, injuries and near misses, and particiapates in associated investigations
