Primary Purpose:

The primary purpose of this position is to systematically build caps while maintaining acceptable production levels within the quality parameters established.

Job Duties: Level 4

  • Follow supervisor/lead instructions.
  • Check quality of the caps for bowing, scratches, critical dimensions and screw/cap insertion.
  • Before production run ensure setup is ready and that all materials are present.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Perform repairs on caps.
  • Maintain a production rate of 500 pcs. per hour.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate orally or in writing.
  • Be able to operate and understand functions of machine touch screen.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use inspection tools.
  • Properly fill out necessary production reporting as well as scrap reports.
  • Be knowledgeable of all cap part numbers (raw and finished numbers).
  • Be able to do length changeovers on the machine.
  • Train operators on safety as well as machine operations.
  • Perform proper startup, shutdown, and minor repairs to the cap machine.
  • Forklift certified.
  • Maintain excellent attendance.
  • Always demonstrate good safety awareness and be active with safety suggestions.

Level 5

  • Qualified on all level 4 operations.
  • Identify causes of downtime and bottlenecks causing loss of production and take corrective action.
  • Trains employees and document training.
  • Consistently meet production goals.
  • Capable of performing some major machine repairs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot.
  • Independent decision making. Lead by example.

Job Analysis

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Entry level position. Does not require previous knowledge, will receive training to achieve desired level.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Approximately 6 months of work experience is required to become skilled in all phases of the job. Must be capable of reading a tape measure (8th 16th 32nd ), while performing simple addition and subtraction. Must have the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing due to accountability of production reporting.

INITIATIVE & INGENUITY: Work priorities are determined by updated production board, line leaders or supervisor instructions. The crewmember is responsible for quality checking the raw materials and sub-assemblies frequently. Be capable of working with other crewmembers while following verbal and written instructions.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR ERRORS: Errors may be serious involving inventory and will become apparent in normal production runs.

CONTACT WITH OTHER: Regular contact with crew members, other employees, lead people and staff members where improper handling may affect results. Clear, concise communications skills are important.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Flow of work and character of duties involve some repetitive use of hands, wrists and arms motions while standing a minimum of 8 hrs per day ( 39-1/2 hrs per week) with mandatory overtime during peak season. Rotating within the lines is required due to ergonomics. Normal and corrected hearing and vision are necessary with manual coordination some walking with frequent bending, twisting, stooping and lifting of approximately 35 lbs. Must have good hand eye coordination and be mechanically adaptable to using some hand tools.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR EQUIPMENT: In order to advance this position will be required to become capable of limited troubleshooting all equipment on the line. Damage to this equipment would result in a loss for the company.

WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS: Exposed to normal factory environment (wood dust and aluminum) with no factors or hazards present to a disagreeable extent. Must be able to with stand heat up to 95 degrees.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: Must adhere to all safety rules and regulations as specified in

the Endura’s Safety Manuel. This responsibility necessitates wearing of proper personal protective equipment (i.e. high visibility clothing, steel-toed safety shoes, safety glasses & ear plugs) by each crewmember on the line.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This job includes other duties and responsibilities assigned by management. Regular attendance is essential to any position with Endura.
