Job Title: CAD Manager (Civil Infrastructure)

Location: Fresno, CA, Visalia, CA, or Bakersfield, CA (Central Valley)

Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced CAD Manager to lead our design team in the Central Valley area, including Fresno, Visalia, and Bakersfield. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in civil infrastructure projects and will be responsible for managing and coordinating the production of detailed design drawings and plans. This role requires strong leadership abilities, technical expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:


Team Leadership and Management:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of CAD designers and drafters.
  • Assign tasks, manage workloads, and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members.


Project Coordination:

  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure the accuracy and quality of design drawings.
  • Develop and maintain CAD standards, templates, and workflows to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Oversee the production of design drawings for civil infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, water and sewer systems, and other related facilities.


Technical Expertise:

  • Utilize advanced CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation) to produce detailed design drawings and plans.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
  • Perform quality control checks on all design drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.


Communication and Collaboration:

  • Act as a liaison between the CAD team and other departments within the organization.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical input and support.


Innovation and Improvement:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest CAD software and technologies.
  • Implement new tools and techniques to improve the efficiency and quality of design processes.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the CAD team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in CAD management, preferably in civil infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and other relevant CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified CAD Manager (CCM) designation.
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and practices.
  • Knowledge of GIS software and applications.
  • Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects in the Central Valley.
