Scenic CAD Designer/Detailer

The InProduction team has spent the better part of the last decade combining the best seating and staging companies into a one-stop shop for most of what is needed to produce an event. Starting with SGA Production Services, we added and integrated T&B Equipment, CommuniLux Productions, Nussli U.S., and Seating Solutions to become today's InProduction. These acquisitions have allowed InProduction to evolve into the largest provider of temporary seating, staging, structures, and scenic production for the United States events industry. As a part of the InProduction Family, CommuniLux Productions acts a custom fabricator for corporate, theatrical and experiential retail customers. We pride ourselves on bringing the one-of-a-kind designs of our customers to life in a high quality, sustainable way. The Detailer/CAD Drafter will play an essential role in our production team, tasked with developing precise plans and elevations for scenic fabrication, custom millwork, and permanent installations. We are looking for someone who is excited about building, innovating, and creating exceptional one-of-a-kind projects. If you are passionate about precision, work well independently, and have excellent communication and organizational skills, you will be a perfect fit for our team.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create technical drawings for shop build
  • Draft detailed assembly/installation drawings
  • Research and recommend new materials for construction
  • Actively communicate with construction team
  • Work closely with the production team to meet both budget and scheduling goals
  • Monitor shop standards and quality control
  • Assist with tech-builds in shop
  • Communicate

Qualifications:

  • BA or BFA preferred. Work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 2-3 years of detailer work in scenic and corporate events preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of scenic fabrication practices; shop fabrication experience a plus
  • Proficiency with Vectorworks, MS Office required.
  • Experience with automation and electronics a plus.
  • Entertainment and Events Industry experience preferred (Live Events, Sporting Events/Venues, Theater)
  • The position requires a background check and drug screening
