Your main focus will be the sourcing and pricing of PakLab purchased materials and an advanced level of professional purchasing activities. You will maintain ongoing communication with the supplier base that provides constant updates to PakLab of market and/or product movement and seek out suppliers and relationships that result in positive PakLab performance in customer satisfaction, inventory and cash management.


Your Role

  • Coordinate and perform activities involved with procuring goods and services, such as raw materials, parts, and supplies through MRP system and directional needs.
  • Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, lead time, and delivery schedule.
  • Work directly in support of line operations and in collaboration with department managers, engineers or operations staff.
  • Estimate values according to knowledge of market price and determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
  • Prepare bid specifications, receives bids and makes purchases of commodities or goods where the financial impact is great.
  • Work out remedies for defective or unacceptable goods or services with quality assurance personnel, users, vendors and others.
  • Liaison between the Supply Chain Group and other internal managers to provide purchasing training, analysis and information as needed.
  • Review and improve process of sourcing and pricing inbound material flow.
  • Actively seek cost savings through price negotiations and sourcing decisions for raw material and component requirements.
  • Analyze monthly variances between purchase price, standards and actual costs of raw materials.
  • Supervise the purchasing and negotiation of non-inventory supplies for plant operations.
  • Aid in management of excess/obsolete inventory and material disposition.
  • Ensure that purchasing documents are properly completed, signed by authorized personnel with appropriate terms and conditions.nd events. Acts as a liaison in dealings between vendors and user departments when necessary.


Your Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • One or more years’ experience working in a Procurement environment, especially primary/secondary packaging or chemicals preferred
  • Able to work in fast-paced environment with limited supervision, self-motivated, capable of working independently
  • Detail oriented with strong clerical and time management skills.
  • Proactive and able to anticipate the needs of the business, and actively facilitate solutions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of as well as an intuitive ability to notice, interpret, anticipate and respond to others concerns based on their choice of words, tone of voice, expressions, and other non-verbal behavior.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior problem solving, decision making and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of MRP, ERP systems, inventory software; Warehouse Management Systems software; order processing systems; spreadsheet software and Microsoft Office.
  • Able to work extended hours as business dictates.
